Shared Costs
With the multi-customer solution, all the warehousing and IT costs can be shared across the customer base at that building. This mitigates the risks of having a large fixed cost base, making cost per unit more controlled and more dependent on customer demand.
Order and distribution consolidation can also take place from these locations providing a more economical cost to serve and reducing road miles due to improved drop densities. This is effective when you need to serve customers in a certain geographical area by a given time constraint.
Shared Labor
When labor resources needs to be concentrated into a narrow time window, for picking and despatch it can be re-allocated from other customers reducing the need for expensive overtime or temporary labor payments.
